What will you work on?
You will work on developing, testing, and documenting internal applications throughout their lifecycle – from idea to deployed solution. As a full stack developer, you are an important part of one of our teams and contribute to moving increasingly towards devsecops. Here you will work with both backend and frontend, and you will have the opportunity to develop quality systems through test-driven development and automation.
Together with your colleagues, you will take responsibility for ensuring that the code you deliver meets high standards and is sustainable over time. You will support each other where needed, whether it involves development, design, operations, or testing.
Your daily work will involve everything from new development, further development, and maintenance of our in-house developed systems. An important part of your job is to manage requirements and requests from various stakeholders and to have a fruitful dialogue with them. It is important that we collectively see the whole picture and feel responsible for how changes may affect surrounding systems.
Additionally, you will, together with others in the team, be responsible for the systems used in connection with development, such as Jira, as well as other tasks occurring within the unit.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for employment:
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT, or several years of relevant work experience in the IT field.
- Several years of current and relevant work experience as a full stack developer, focusing on Java.
- Good ability to express yourself and communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Great emphasis is placed on:
- Personal qualities such as good collaboration skills, responsibility, and being unpretentious. You have a holistic perspective and a good attitude.
- Knowledge of and experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Knowledge of and experience with one of the Java backend frameworks, for example, Jakarta EE, Spring, or Quarkus.
- Knowledge of and experience with one of the web frontend frameworks, for example, Vue.js, React, or Angular 2+.
- Knowledge of and experience with DevOps: Container, Docker, and Git.
- Knowledge of and experience with orchestration solutions such as Docker/K8.
- Experience in implementing and developing automated unit and integration tests.
Great emphasis is placed on:
- Knowledge of and experience with relational databases and SQL, such as MariaDB.
- Knowledge of and experience in technically building or maintaining system integrations with SOAP, REST, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of and experience with other programming languages, such as Python.
- Knowledge in architecture and software design.
- Knowledge and experience in IT and information security and in developing secure digital systems within regulated activities.
Emphasis is placed on:
- Experience working in Linux.
- Knowledge in any report generator/PDF generator.
- Knowledge in performance testing.
- Good ability to express yourself and communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
What does the unit do?
We work with the development, operation, management, and maintenance of IT systems for the entire agency. We are a medium-sized unit, which means you always have close support from other competencies. We participate in several large projects and development efforts that allow us to work with new technology and exciting architecture.

About the employment
You will be employed as an administrator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date will be as soon as possible by agreement.
As an employee of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be placed in a war position. Some positions are placed in a security class where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security checks will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 40 percent of your working time.
